A transformative main-floor renovation combining kitchen, dining and living areas into a bright, open-concept interior filled with natural light and detailed custom millwork.
Brief
The clients wanted to rethink the main level of their longtime family home, creating a space better suited to entertaining and spending time with family.
A key priority was improving the connection between the kitchen, dining and living areas. The existing kitchen felt separated from the rest of the home, while limited seating and natural light prevented the main floor from reaching its full potential.
Challenge
This project went beyond a conventional kitchen renovation. The layout itself needed to be reconsidered to improve sightlines, circulation and the relationship between the main living spaces.
Opening the interior also created an opportunity to strengthen the home’s connection to its mature surroundings, bringing significantly more natural light into the space while maintaining warmth and character.s.
Solution
The redesigned main floor creates a much stronger connection between the kitchen, dining and living areas, transforming previously separated spaces into one cohesive environment.
Additional and enlarged windows bring an abundance of natural light into the interior and capitalize on the home’s established outdoor views. Clean white finishes and detailed custom millwork establish a fresh, timeless foundation, contrasted by solid walnut elements that introduce warmth and natural character.
The result is a bright and welcoming main floor that feels considerably more spacious, connected and tailored to the way the family lives and entertains.
