A sophisticated kitchen renovation combining custom cabinetry, thoughtful storage and warm natural finishes to update a well-loved family home without unnecessarily changing what already worked.
The clients were happy with the existing kitchen layout but wanted to replace aging cabinetry with a higher-quality, more functional design.
The renovation included new cabinetry, countertops, backsplash and sink, while retaining the existing appliances, flooring and refinishing the wood countertop at the island. Improving storage was also a priority, particularly within drawers, pantry cabinetry and everyday work areas.
Rather than completely reinventing the space, the challenge was to identify what worked and build upon it.
The new kitchen needed to integrate seamlessly with the existing open-concept living areas and retained finishes while providing better storage, improved functionality and a more refined level of detailing.
Light painted cabinetry was paired with natural wood and warm metal accents to create an elegant, contemporary kitchen with an organic quality.
Custom cabinetry maximizes storage through deep drawers, pantry pull-outs and purpose-designed organization, while decorative millwork gives the island the character of a bespoke furniture piece. Taller cabinetry takes advantage of the nine-foot ceilings, while considered lighting, hardware and architectural detailing add depth and personality.
The result is a kitchen that feels considerably more sophisticated while remaining comfortable, practical and entirely at home within the existing residence.
