A complete kitchen remodel designed around better function, increased storage and a light, contemporary aesthetic with European influences.
The clients wanted to rethink their existing kitchen to better suit the way they lived and entertained. Increased countertop space and storage were priorities, along with comfortable seating for four to six people and a more open connection between the kitchen and adjoining living areas.
Rather than being tied to the existing configuration, the clients were open to changes to walls, entrances and storage areas where they would create a more functional layout.
The kitchen needed to accomplish a great deal within its existing footprint. The freestanding island provided useful storage and prep space but limited the opportunity for larger-scale seating, while existing closets and circulation consumed valuable space.
The challenge was to improve storage, countertop space, seating and flow without sacrificing the warmth and comfort the clients wanted from their home.
A redesigned floor plan and custom cabinetry make more effective use of the available space, incorporating purpose-designed storage and generous work surfaces.
Light natural wood, clean lines and geometric detailing give the kitchen its European-influenced character, while a custom banquette creates comfortable dining for family and guests while providing additional concealed storage. The resulting space feels light, open and contemporary while remaining warm and relaxed.
