PROJECT OVERVIEW

A complete 10,000 sq. ft. office renovation designed to create a warm, modern and highly functional workplace while establishing a new design standard for Avail CPA’s Lethbridge offices.

PROJECT BRIEF

Avail CPA’s second-floor renovation provided the opportunity to completely reimagine more than 10,000 sq. ft. of existing office space. With the interior stripped back to the building shell, the goal was to create a professional workplace that felt warm, comfortable and approachable while supporting the practical needs of both employees and clients.

The new office includes 21 private offices, 14 open workstations, five meeting rooms and dedicated staff and client spaces, each requiring careful consideration of function, privacy and experience.

CHALLENGE

The design needed to balance the different demands of a modern professional workplace. Client-facing areas required a more elevated level of finish, while staff spaces needed to prioritize comfort, durability and everyday functionality.

Acoustics and privacy were particularly important within offices and meeting spaces, alongside accessibility, flexible furniture requirements and the integration of millwork, coffee stations and shared amenities.

As the first area to undergo this level of transformation, the second floor also needed to establish a cohesive design direction that could guide future renovations throughout the building.

SOLUTION

A neutral, timeless palette was paired with natural materials, warm wood tones and clean contemporary detailing to create a workplace that feels professional without becoming corporate or impersonal.

Biophilic elements were incorporated throughout the design, with particular emphasis on the elevator lobby to establish a strong first impression. Client areas received elevated finishes, while acoustic materials, carefully selected furnishings and integrated millwork support privacy, comfort and functionality throughout the workplace.

The result is a refined yet approachable office environment that reflects Avail’s professional identity while creating a comfortable and welcoming experience for employees and clients alike.
