A complete basement renovation transforming an existing lower-level family room into a sophisticated entertainment space, incorporating a custom home bar, media area, lounge and adjoining bathroom.
The clients wanted to completely rethink their basement, creating a destination within the home for entertaining, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
The renovated space needed to incorporate a fully functional home bar, comfortable lounge seating, a four-screen media wall and integrated storage, while creating the atmosphere and character of an authentic English-inspired pub.
The existing basement needed to be comprehensively reworked to accommodate multiple functions without feeling crowded or disconnected. Space planning, circulation, construction requirements and the relationship between the bar, media area, lounge and bathroom all needed to be considered as part of one cohesive renovation.
The basement was redesigned as a complete entertainment environment, with the layout, architectural detailing, finishes, lighting and custom millwork developed together to create a cohesive result.
Rich dark wood, warm lighting and traditional detailing establish the character of an English-inspired pub. The custom bar incorporates a working counter, raised guest seating, sink, refrigeration, ice maker and extensive storage and display, while the four-screen media wall and lounge create a separate but connected place to relax.
Rather than feeling like a basement with a bar added to it, the completed space feels intentional and immersive—a warm, character-rich destination designed specifically around the way the family entertains.
